Sex Spelled Backward!

Yes, We’re Really Gonna Go There

Does the bible really say that sex is for married couples only? The answer is not as simple as we have been led to believe, but if you answered, “yes” you are not wrong but you do not have the entire story and I’m sorry to say that if you answered “no” you are in the same boat as those who answered “yes”.

 Implied Purpose

Genesis 1:27-28 tells us that God created man in his own image; male and female he created them.  After He created both, God blessed them and told them to “be fruitful and increase in number” the very same command He gave to all the other creatures He created.

God placed within the woman all the eggs and within the man all the sperm.  Until the two come together, being fruitful and increasing in number can’t be done, so the sexual union for the purpose of procreation is absolutely necessary.  Today we may be able to get away with avoiding sexual relations by using donated eggs and sperm, but test tubes, petri dishes, laboratories, and know how weren’t around back then!

Also let’s be clear that the “two becoming one flesh” wasn’t about the act itself, it was about the off-spring who would be a DNA combination of the two.
